Beating Burnout in Congregations

Help to beat burnout out before it happens, within your own heart and mind and within the hearts and minds of the leaders of your congregation!  Let us know if the Parish Resource Center can help you, in any way, as you take good care of yourself and help the leaders in your church do the the same.

Review by Ray S. Anderson, Senior Professor of Theology and Ministry, Fuller Theological Seminar (words on the back cover)

If your church is a subscriber of the Lancaster PRC, and you would like to borrow this book, just give us a call at (717) 299-1113.  The book's catalog number is 11928, and it is in the "Self-Care" section of our Leadership resource area.

If you are burned out from reading books about burnout, this is one that will restore your soul and recalibrate your aim in life and minsitry...  Based on the war stories of those who have retreated from the battle weary and wounded.  (Lynne Baub's) book not only describes the symptoms of toxic overcommitment but also provides a prescription for sanity and serenity in serving Christ.  If I were a church leader, I would put this book in the hand of congregational members before they undertake any ministry assignment and require that it be read by all who are presently serving.
